1. What is the target group?

 

The study course is designed for graduates with several years of professional experience who is going to take on management functions in logistics or supply chain. They work in the logistics planning, or in operations management of industrial, trading or logistics companies, or other areas associated with the management of logistics-related businesses.

The admission requirements are:

- University degree (diploma, bachelor, master) in economics, engineering or natural sciences

- Proficiency in German and English

- As a rule two years of qualified professional experience after the university degree

The programme is offered on a two year part-time basis plus one semester for writing the master thesis.

The graduates of the study course get the internationally known degree “Master of Business Administration” (MBA).

6. Does the MBA programme qualify the graduates for PhD-programmes?

 

The study programme includes 120 credit points opening access to PhD-programmes and to the higher public service.

7. What are the languages of instruction in this MBA programme?

 

The languages of instruction are German and English, where appropriate also Dutch.

8. How is the structure of the MBA study programme?

 

The programme is divided into twelve modules; three modules are to study per semester. The lectures of winter semester (including exams) take place from September to January and in the summer semester from March to July.

According to the student’s wishes, the project can be completed within one of the first four semesters (however prior to the master thesis). If conducted as a full-time project, it will take six months, if worked on part-time, the duration will be extended accordingly.

During the last semester the master thesis must be produced and then discussed in a colloquium with presentation.

9. How many students are admitted per year?

 

Per year maximal 25 students can be admitted.

10. What is the percentage of the contact hours?

 

Every course comes up to ca. 30 percent contact-studies and 70 percent self-studies. The residential weekends take place on Fridays (from 14 p.m. to 20 p.m.) and Saturdays (from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m.) every other week.

One “block week” in each semester takes place from Monday to Friday ca. 8 hours a day.

11. What is the study location of the lectures?

 

The courses take place in the first semester in Enschede and Münster, in the second semester in Münster and in the third and forth semesters in Osnabrück.

12. Where are the students enrolled?

 

After get admitted, the students can decide whether they enrol at Fachhochschule Osnabrück in Germany or Saxion Hogeschool Enschede in the Netherlands.

Irrespective of place of enrolment, all applications must be sent to the Studierendenverwaltung (Students' Office) of Fachhochschule Osnabrück. The three partner universities jointly select the students for their MBA programme.

13. Is recognition of study periods/professional experience possible?

 

Students with relevant university degree and/or professional experience in relevant fields can shorten their study time significantly. To decide on this, appropriated documents as CV, modules studied, descriptions of the professional experience and the like must be submitted.

There is no application fee charged for the MBA programme. The applicant will directly send the documents to the Student's Office (Studierendenverwaltung) of Fachhochschule Osnabrück.

The application deadline is as a rule the 31st July for the winter semester and the 31st for the summer semester.

17. What are the costs?

 

The tuition fee amounts to 2.900 € per semester plus an administration fee. Furthermore, additional fee of 600 € is required for the supervision of the job-based project.

18. What is included in the tuition fee?

 

The tuition fee covers the costs for teachings and administration. Cost for teaching material (books, copies, print-outs) as well as expenses for study trips and plant tours have to be paid by the students.

The study programme has a bi-national accreditation with the seal of quality of the ZEvA (Germany) and the NVAO (Netherlands).
